The piercing “gun” is an economic but unprofessional device. The actual “hole” is done by the back of the jewel that is litterally shot through the skin tissues. This produces an irregular wound that is more likely “open ” to infections and will take longer to heal. In the shooting process a small amount of plasma comes to contact with the gun which should be sterilized every time. Most of the times its just cleaned with some alcohol that is not even a disinfectant! The jewel that is shot is not anallergic to the damaged skin and is potentially contaminated being in contact with the gun.
