WHICH METAL THE JEWEL MUST BE

 SURGICAL STEEL

Exists in four general classes based on their composition (200,300,400,500); The ones more resistant to corrosion are the 300 serie. The ones that are used for piercing jewellery are the 316L, 316LVM and Compsition D. All three types contain irrelevant percentages of nickel, therefore they don’t release nickel salts in the body and they don’t cause nickel contact dermatites. This is way they are used for surgical implants. Jewelry is electrally polished to keep the surface clear of cavities where bacteria could settle. It is important that the welding process is very accurate and thats way we choose Wildcat who garantees their level of quality by lab tests.

TITANIUM

Titanium is one of the most biocompatible elements on the planet .It’s used in medical implantation and other medical-scientific applications . It weighs less than surgical steel. It’s biocompatible only in its higher grade (ATTENTION: grade 1 Titanium will stain permanently tissues at contact. sadly it is sometime selled because of its low cost). It has the possibilty to be colored without the use of pigments (anodizing electrolyte). Jewelry is electrally polished to keep the surface clear of cavities where bacteira could settle. (ATTENTION: there is matt Titanium on the market that could cause biocompatibility problems). Titanium used for piercing is grade 23 (specification Ti6AL4VELI): Wildcat garantees their level of quality by lab tests.
